20-year old twin sons of Daniel Amokachi have been training since early May with JS Hercules in Oulu. Now they are set to follow their father’s footsteps in the big football world. Nazim Amokachi and Kalim Amokachi wrote their names on 1-year contracts and move to Turkish champions, Besiktas.
The twins flew to Istanbul to undergo 1 week trial with the U21 team of Besiktas in the end of July. During the trial Nazim Amokachi and Kalim Amokachi impressed the club’s sport management and the boys were requested to stay for another week after which contracts were signed.
The brothers are both attacking minded players and are able to play as central forwards and as wingers. Unfortunately they didn’t have a chance to play any matches with JS Hercules before joining Besiktas, but their professional attitude and technical abilities at trainings were rated high by Hercules coaching staff as well as by their team mates.
Father of the youngsters and JS Hercules head coach Daniel Amokachi played 77 matches for Besiktas in the end of 90s, in which he struck 19 goals. During his time in Turkey Amokachi become a cult figure among the fans winning hearts across the country and even among the supporters of other clubs. His sons performances will be followed with great interest by Turkish football lovers.
