Former Super Eagles player Sani Kaita has landed in Oulu, Finland to join JS Hercules for the remaining part of the season. He is working hard to get himself back to match fitness under his old national team coach Daniel Amokachi and at the same time looking forward to help the young squad of JS Hercules with his experience.

Sani Kaita is a 30 year old defensive midfielder from Nigeria. He has played  in many major international tournaments with Nigerian national team. Including African Cup of Nations, Olympics, U20 World Cup and in 2010 World Cup in South Africa. All together he has 22 caps for Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.

During his club career Kaita has represented many high level professional teams including Sparta Rotterdam, AS Monaco, Kuban Krasnodar, Lokomotiv Moscow, Metalist Kharkiv and Alania Vladikavkaz.

After the 2010 World Cup Kaita’s career didn’t go forward as planned. His red card in a match against Greece, which Nigeria lost, wasn’t well greeted back in his home country and he even received death threats. The public pressure was overwhelming and he never got back to his former glory.

Past couple of years Kaita has continued to play in his native Nigeria. Now he is determined to work hard to get back to the level what the demanding defensive midfielder’s role in Europe requires.

Sani Kaita makes his first appearance with JS Hercules on Sunday 21st of August in a match against Närpes Kraft.
